  1. Vessels are flexible constructions; due to waves and cargo load, the bolted connection of the propulsion system becomes either loose or get overloaded. These forces can be measured.
  2. Pipe layer vessels have a stinger. Forces in this construction can be monitored during operation and the trip.
  3. Important constructions with highly loaded bolted connection such as in cranes are subject to costly inspections. These costs can be reduced or eliminated with continuous monitoring.
